All downloadable music files are in M4A format (apart from Magic Feather, which is in MP3 format...for some reason). M4A is a file extension used to represent audio standard called MPEG 4 Audio. M4A is the new replacement for the older MP3 audio format and includes many enhancement and improvements. Many popular applications and hardware devices already support M4A including Apple's iPod.
